Kanji flashcard quiz
Free JLPT N5 kanji practice, playable now.
Kanji Flash is a free, browser-local kanji flashcard quiz for Japanese learners. The current preview focuses on JLPT N5 kanji, with short multiple-choice rounds for meanings and readings.
Your score, EXP, level, streak, accuracy, and total questions answered stay in your browser. No account is required, so you can open the page, answer a few cards, and leave.
N5 is available now with 79 kanji. N4, N3, N2, and N1 decks are planned for the full v1 release.
Kanji Flash is part of the Jepang.org learning ecosystem and is crafted by Septian Ganendra S. K. (sepTN).
What you can practice now
- JLPT N5 kanji meanings
- Onyomi and kunyomi readings
- Multiple-choice recall rounds
- Score, EXP, levels, streaks, accuracy, and questions answered
- Browser-local progress with no account required
- English, Indonesian, Spanish, French, and Portuguese support
How it works
A small practice loop for meanings and readings.
Each card shows one kanji first and hides the reading until you answer. That keeps the round focused on recognition instead of passive review.
After each answer, Kanji Flash reveals the reading and updates your progress. It is not meant to replace a full kanji course; it makes quick recall practice easier to start.
Use it as a warm-up before a study session, a quick check after learning new kanji, or a low-friction review when you only have a minute.
Current N5 scope
- 79 JLPT N5 kanji from the current source deck
- Meanings available in five interface languages
- N4-N1 marked as planned, not available yet
- Free static preview with no login or payment flow
